About Goal! Two
Goal! Two is a straightforward NES soccer game built around quick matches, responsive controls, and the fun of competing against another player. Released in 1992, it comes from TOSE Software and was published by Jaleco as a follow-up to Goal!, carrying the series’ accessible arcade-style approach onto Nintendo’s 8-bit console.
Matches take place on a full soccer pitch viewed from above, with the action following the ball as players move between attack and defense. Passing, dribbling, shooting, and tackling are all handled with simple controls, making it easy to understand but still rewarding when you learn to create space and time a challenge properly. The pace can shift quickly: a promising attack may become a scramble in front of goal, while a well-placed shot can settle a close match.
The game supports one or two players, and multiplayer is where its appeal is especially clear. Facing a friend gives every possession more weight, whether you are working the ball toward the penalty area or trying to protect a narrow lead. For solo players, the computer provides a practical way to get familiar with the controls and match flow.
Goal! Two does not depend on elaborate presentation or a large story. Its appeal is the immediate satisfaction of classic console soccer: choose a side, take the field, and try to outplay the opposition with fast reactions and sensible positioning. The colorful NES graphics and compact matches give it an easy pick-up-and-play quality, while the two-player mode adds plenty of replay value. For fans of early home-console football games, it remains a solid choice to play online on your browser through RetroCloud.
