Maxi 15

Maxi 15 is a varied NES compilation released by AVE in 1992, bringing a broad selection of smaller games together on one cartridge. Rather than offering a single campaign or connected story, it acts as a menu-driven sampler: choose a title from the collection, learn its individual rules, and switch to something different whenever you want a change of pace. That structure gives the game a distinctive pick-up-and-play character, especially for players who enjoy exploring the less familiar corners of the NES library.

The included games cover several styles, with action, arcade-inspired challenges, puzzles, and other compact experiences represented across the collection. Some are built around quick reflexes and straightforward objectives, while others reward patience, pattern recognition, or careful control. The short-form design of many entries makes Maxi 15 well suited to brief sessions, but the variety also encourages repeated play as you compare different games and look for favorites. There is no central hero or overarching plot to follow; the appeal comes from the contrast between the individual selections and the novelty of having so many distinct ideas in one package.

Maxi 15 also supports two players, adding a competitive or cooperative angle where the selected game allows it. That multiplayer option makes the compilation more enjoyable as a casual living-room cartridge, with each player able to sample the lineup and decide which challenges deserve another round.

As an AVE release, Maxi 15 reflects the company’s interest in delivering accessible NES entertainment with a strong emphasis on variety. It is best approached as a historical snapshot of early-1990s cartridge gaming: a collection to browse, sample, and revisit rather than a conventional adventure with a long progression.
