About Bubble Bobble Part 2
Bubble Bobble Part 2 brings Taito’s cheerful bubble-bursting platform action to the NES in a colorful sequel designed for quick thinking, careful movement, and plenty of cooperative fun. Released in 1993, it follows the familiar formula of guiding bubble dragons through compact, single-screen stages filled with enemies, platforms, hazards, and tempting bonuses.
The main attack is simple but wonderfully flexible: blow bubbles to trap enemies, then jump into the bubbles to pop them before they escape. Defeated enemies turn into useful food items, while power-ups can improve movement or make bubble attacks more effective. Since each screen is laid out as a small puzzle, success often depends on positioning rather than simply rushing forward. A missed bubble or poorly timed jump can quickly turn a safe-looking situation into trouble.
The NES version preserves the series’ bright presentation and accessible controls while giving the action a more adventure-focused structure. Solo players can work through the stages at their own pace, while two players can team up and create entertaining chaos by trapping enemies together. The cooperative option is especially appealing when one player sets up bubbles and the other clears them, though careless popping can just as easily get in the way.
With its friendly visual style, catchy arcade-inspired gameplay, and stages that reward experimentation, Bubble Bobble Part 2 remains an inviting NES platformer. It is easy to understand within seconds, yet later challenges demand sharper timing and better planning. Whether you remember the series from arcades or are discovering it for the first time, you can play online on your browser through RetroCloud and enjoy a charming slice of Taito’s classic action-platforming design.
