About Paperboy 2

Paperboy 2 brings the newspaper-delivery antics of the arcade classic to the NES with a fresh set of suburban streets, unpredictable hazards, and plenty of targets for a well-aimed throw. As the paper carrier, you ride along the road while tossing newspapers toward the homes on your route. Delivering to subscribers helps maintain your customer base and increases your score, while missed papers, damaged property, and collisions can quickly turn a routine morning into a chaotic ride.

The course is never completely safe. Traffic, neighborhood obstacles, and other moving hazards force you to watch both the road ahead and the houses along the sidewalk. Good timing is essential: you need to steer around trouble, position yourself for each delivery, and avoid wasting newspapers on homes that are not on your route. At the end of a run, a bonus-style obstacle course gives you another chance to test your control and earn extra points.

Paperboy 2 retains the simple premise of its predecessor but gives it a more playful, challenging structure suited to the NES. The controls are easy to understand, yet successful deliveries require concentration as hazards become harder to manage and the route leaves less room for mistakes. Two-player support lets players take turns competing for the better score, making the game a natural fit for short sessions with a friend.

Released for the NES in 1992, Paperboy 2 was developed by Tengen and published by Mindscape. Its colorful presentation, arcade-inspired scoring, and unusual premise give it a distinctive place among early-1990s console games.
